To continue our celebration and study of California Women Artists we invite you to join an in-person visit to two museums where women artists work in on view. First stop is at OCMA (333 Avenue of the Arts, Costa Mesa, CA 92626) to view two exhibitions: Jennifer Guidi: And So It Is and Alice Neel: Feels Like Home. Guidi’s meditative, color field abstractions offer a mid-career artist’s exploration of materials and the practice of painting. Although not a California artist, the intimate portraits by Alice Neel cannot be missed. After our visit to OCMA, we head to Long Beach for lunch at Claire’s At The Museum (2300 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90803) where we dine with views of the ocean alongside Claire Falkenstein’s water sculpture, Structure and Flow (1972). After lunch we’ll tour the sculpture garden to view several more works by Falkenstein and stop inside the museum for a deeper view of her works in the LBMA collection.
