The Norton Simon Museum holds a robust collection of art works by Edgar Degas, including paintings, mixed media, and sculptures, much of his art depicts working women. In the final quarter of the 19th century, the French artist portrayed young women working in shops, cafes, the ballet, and commercial laundries across Paris.
